Meal Packaging Event

This event is organized to get to the 50 of the most passionate advocates in our community for Ending Child Hunger under one roof and use the energy and funds raised to invest in the next


Volunteers

  • Set up and tear down: 7 to 10 volunteers are needed to help unload the truck, set up the room and to help clean up after the event. Please note some of the equipment weighs up to 50lbs

  • Event Volunteers: Approx. 40 volunteers are needed for every 10k meals being packaged. Each volunteer can package 125-150 meals per hour. For example: 40 people can package 10,152 meals in two hours and 100 can do as many as 30,024 in the same time

Location

  • Venue: The event must take place indoors with access to electricity. Please plan for 15 square feet per volunteer. Please specify any logistical information to enter the premises

  • Parking: Space to park a 16 to 36 ft. box truck in length is necessary

Tables

  • One 6ft. rectangular table is needed for every 5 volunteers

Donation

  • It costs $.34 to produce each meal and there is a 10,152-meal minimum for events. Event hosts fulfill this cost through a donation to Rise Against Hunger

  • The donation should be fulfilled prior to the event date, however, payment at event is accepted

  • There will be a surcharge to cover travel expenses for events over 100 miles away
